What we have managed to do!

We have managed to be finished with a lot of tasks, and are soon gluing the pyramids on top of the base for the finished product.

<----- One of our first attempts at the Great Pyramid.

<----- What we did to make the pyramids. The line segment at the middle of the triangles is the length of the slant height of the pyramid.

Although the calculations of some of the pyramids were wrong, due to misunderstanding, we have finished creating the pyramids with the correct measurements, and also checked it to see if they look right, by measuring the height. Some of the pyramids' height are 2-3 mm shorter or longer, but that is understandable as we have cut and glued them together which makes it not very accurate.

As a result of these finished made pyramids, we have started to spray-paint them gold - which Mr Nigel provided for us - and we have also received plywood for the base which we will cover with black paper.

The pyramids are still being sprayed. We have already done two layers of spray, and are soon finished with the spraying. What is a problem, however, is that we used to much spray for each layer so the golden colour is running down, making the colour look uneven on the pyramid. We hope that this won't be noticed when they are dry, and displayed.

The plywood is very big, so we have decided to place our already-made accurate map of the location of the pyramids in the middle. On the map, we have made squares which are the same sizes as the base of our scaled down pyramids. By placing a compass on the corners of the squares, we will know exactly where the pyramids are supposed to be placed, as the marks will be traced onto the black paper. After this, we can just remove the map, and glue the pyramids to the black paper of the base.
